Manage Blocked Numbers
Recipients can opt out of receiving messages from your number, or you can manually add numbers to your Blocked Numbers list. This list prevents your HelloSMS account from sending campaigns to the numbers on it.
Add Blocked Numbers
There are three ways a number can be added to your Blocked Numbers list:
Automatic Opt-Out by Recipient
When you send a group message (Campaign), HelloSMS automatically appends an unsubscribe option, such as: "Unsubscribe: STOP to [Your HelloSMS Number]".
If a recipient sends this specific opt-out message in reply, their number is automatically added to the Blocked Numbers list.
Manual Addition via the Dashboard
If a user requests an opt-out through an external channel (e.g., email or phone), you can manually add their number to the list:
- Go to the Blocked Numbers page.
- Click the Add Number button.
- Enter the phone number you wish to block.
- Click Add to confirm.

The number will appear in the Blocked Numbers list.
Bulk Import
If you have a large list of numbers to block (e.g., from a previous system or external database), you can import them quickly:
- Navigate to Blocked Numbers.
- Click the Import List of Numbers button.
- Paste your list of numbers into the text box. Enter one number per line.
- Click Import.

The numbers will appear in the Blocked Numbers list.
Manage the Blocked Numbers List
Once numbers are added to the list, you can perform maintenance tasks like searching, removing, or exporting the list.
Export the List
To download a copy of all blocked numbers to your local device:
- Go to Blocked Numbers.
- Select Download all blocked numbers as CSV.

Remove a Number (Re-Subscribing)
If a customer requests to start receiving messages again, follow these steps to remove them from the list:
- Go to Blocked Numbers.
- Use the Search number bar to locate the desired number.
- Click the Remove button next to the entry.
You must ensure the recipient has specifically requested to be unblocked before performing this action to maintain compliance with privacy and marketing regulations.

These controls ensure you can effectively honor opt-out requests, respect recipient privacy, and maintain full legal compliance across all your group messaging campaigns.
