Create a Usage Report

The Reports section of the dashboard provides insights into your sending history. You can track sent messages, filter results, monitor campaign performance, and review usage costs. Because the platform operates on a prepaid model, monitoring usage helps you manage your SMS credits efficiently.

Use Cases

Usage reports can help you:

  • Campaign Monitoring: Group reports by subject or sender to track message volume for specific campaigns or internal communications.
  • Credit Management: Estimate future credit needs and configure low-balance warnings in Account Settings.

Create a Usage Report

To create a usage report, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the Reports view from your main navigation menu.
  2. Select Create report.
  3. Choose the specific Year and Month for the report data you want to view.
  4. Group your data by:
    • Select Filter on API Messages to decide if you want to include API messages in the report.
    • Select Date to add filters to consolidate rows.
    • Select Group by subject to view metrics for each subject line used (for example, seeing how many SMS were sent for a specific topic like "test").
    • Select Group by custom sender to see a row per sender name used, including how many messages were sent with that sender name.
  5. Select Update Report to see a preview in the Report Overview section.
  6. Select Download CSV to download a copy to your local device.

When using the GDPR settings to automatically remove messages after a specific time (defaults to one year), only messages that have not been removed will show in the statistics.

Use these reporting tools to watch your campaign costs, forecast future credit needs, and successfully manage your prepaid balance.
